hey there today I am taste testing bluebells ice cream, peppermint bark, and I've never had this flavor before, but I am a fan of their plain peppermint ice cream. And I was only introduced to it last year actually, and I love it. But I've never had this one. So I'm excited to see how it tastes. Oh, there's white ice cream. Probably has peppermint extract, chocolate chips, and maybe some candy cane. I don't know. Or maybe it's wonderful. It's chocolate yummy. I love how peppermint tea it is. I think those are candy canes. Oh, no. Maybe it is white chocolate. Yeah. Yeah. It's white chocolate bark. That's why it's bark with candy cane in it. And then little chocolate chip pieces. Very fun. I don't like the chocolate chip pieces. I like the flavor of it. But biting into the chocolate chip. I don't love and there's a little aftertaste to me. A lot of people say that chocolate has accident. Chocolate does not have wax in it. Not good chocolate anyway, but the aftertaste of this chocolate chip tastes like it has some wax to it. whether it does or not, I don't know. But that could just be because it's frozen. And I don't like frozen chocolate chip pieces. I do like the peppermint bark. Now the quality of the ice cream. Here's the thing that I have learned. The higher your butterfat is, then it doesn't melt as quickly. When it hits my tongue starts to melt pretty quickly. Also the churning time of ice cream and a lot of manufactured ice creams, they're just overrun with air is so you're getting a whole bunch of air in your pint versus actual ice cream product. So you get a lighter ice cream and not a denser ice cream. And I prefer a dense ice cream. I think that it tastes better in my mouth. And the texture, the whole sensation is just better. But the flavor of this ice cream is really good. I just don't love how much air is in there. When I'm squeezing this. I can squeeze the container. And that means that it's too soft, it has too much air in it. If you're going strictly on flavor, this is great. But if you're going for density of ice cream, no, it's melting pretty quickly. Meaning that it's got air in there and the fat content is not very high. Most of the flavor. I've actually not tried many of their flavors, but I do really like Bluebell. They have good flavors, the one that's i the ones that I've tried. But when you're buying ice cream, most ice creams you will buy in the grocery store will have a lot of overrun meaning it's overturned. There's a lot of air. So you get these billowy fluffy ice creams versus a really nice dense product. When you have dense ice cream you have more product and you can actually feel the weight difference in the two where this one if you held it up against a dense ice cream, it would be like this one is heavy one is light. I mean even looking at that you can really see and it hasn't been out for very long, but it is already really squishy. really soft. And maybe that doesn't matter to you. Maybe you just want ice cream to eat ice cream or baby the flavor is what you're going for versus that melted immediately in my mouth versus the quality of the texture of your mouth. I do like this ice cream because I like the flavor. And I have not yet made a peppermint ice cream but that is coming and I'm excited to make it. So there you go.
